Probate / Estates Administration

After the death of a loved one, dealing with the administration of their estate can be an extremely distressing and daunting task. WGS Solicitors are highly experienced in this area and can guide and assist you with all aspects of the probate and estate administration; from the initial collation of information and application for the Grant of Probate through to completion of the winding up of the estate.   Our services may include:

  • Obtaining the valuation of assets and liabilities of the deceased
  • Completion of all Inheritance Tax forms
  • Application for the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration if no will exists)
  • Calling in assets and settling liabilities
  • Sales or transfers of property, assets or shares
  • Collating information for income tax returns
  • Advising on Trusts
  • Deeds of Variation
  • Distributions to beneficiaries

Our probate service is based on your individual case and we endeavour to make the process as stress-free as is possible during what is obviously a very emotional time.     Whilst some people do find solace in making themselves busy and actively becoming involved in the organisation of the estate of the deceased loved one,   others may find it too distressing.    We understand that cost issues are important to you and we are transparent about our fees.   Before work is undertaken we will outline what we propose to do on your behalf and provide you with an estimate of our fees.     We will keep you updated as the matter progresses.
